Bidding advisor

On this page, you will find all information you need to know about the ‘bidding advisor’.

What is it?

The bidding advisor is a dedicated section on the right side of the car detail page. It covers two separate tools: the price barometer and the consumer market price

Bidding advisorPrice barometer: how does it work?

The price barometer shows you how attractive your bid would be to the seller, by representing it in one of the three colour zones:

• If your bid is in the red zone, the chance that it will be accepted by the seller is very low.
• Bids in the yellow zone are still quite uncertain but could be worth a gamble.
• When your bid is in the green zone, you have passed the estimated price and there is a good chance the seller will accept your bid.

While it doesn’t guarantee you a win or a loss, it does indicate how attractive your bid is. It’s a great way to help you win more cars!

The barometer looks different from car to car. For cars where the win chances are higher, the green zone on the barometer will be larger than on others. Move the round slider left or right on the barometer. The price field just above it will show you the bid amount and tells you how the chances are for that bid.

Did you notice the indicators? The black marker is where the current price is located on the barometer, while the green one shows you the estimated price. This price is calculated based on historical data and gives you an idea of which amount the seller expects for the vehicle.

You’ll see the Price barometer whenever we have an Estimate Price for the vehicle. The price barometer is available for all vehicles except for Buy Now auctions

Consumer market price: what is it?

It is the average price for which a vehicle is sold to a consumer in your country. It is calculated using up-to-date information from various consumer platforms. The price includes VAT. However, damages on a car are not taken into account. It gives you a very good idea of the margin you could make on a car, especially when you factor in the Estimated price.

The consumer market price is available for the following countries: Spain, Portugal, Belgium, France, Italy, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Switzerland.
